Things to see & do

There are plenty of sights to explore in Dubai, here are just a few examples:

Art Attack Gallery
An eclectic mix of paintings and sculptures from vibrant, new local artists.

Jumeirah Mosque
This is the best known mosque in Dubai made prominent by its huge central dome. This is also the only place of worship for non muslims.

Heritage and Diving Village
Displays ancient artifacts from sites dating back as 550BC. You may enjoy coffee and traditional Arabic bread at a small souq in the village.

Racecourse
Nad Al Sheba racecourse has two left handed flat racing courses, a turf track and a dirt track that surrounds it. With the exception of World Cup night, general admissions to the races are free and you can access the Millennium Terrace seats and lawns area.

Dubai Aquarium
The world's largest aquarium window brings you face-to-face with enormous Sand Tiger Sharks, graceful Stingrays, giant Groupers and shimming shoals of pelagic fish.

Creekside Park
Explore the grounds and amphitheater with seating capacity for 1,200 people, enquiriesrmation booth, 18 hole mini-golf course, 3 jetties for fishing, 2 restaurants and a number of kiosks for refreshments, walking and jogging tracks, and exit points for abras

Dubai has plenty to offer, whether you're staying a week or just a few days.

Here are just a few suggestions:

City Tour
The "Big Bus Tour" gives a great overview of everything in Dubai in just a couple of hours. The guides are very knowledgeable and tickets are valid for 24 hours. For those into something a little different, the Wonderbus Tour drives across land, before going into the water, giving a whole different view of Dubai.

The Gold Souk
There is a good reason that Dubai is called the city of gold. With huge amounts of gold traded here, there are an expansive number of shops selling jewellery. Even if you don't wish to buy, just walking through the souk itself is an experience.

Burj-al-Arab
Dubai's symbol of extravagance. You'll have to pay a fee to get in but is redeemable against food or any purchase you make at this 7-star hotel!

Indoor Skiing
The very fact that you are in the desert and are skiing could seem a contradiction in terms, but that is the lure to the whole experience that is Ski Dubai. With prices covering the rental of all equipment and clothing, you just need to bring yourself along.

Shopping
Dubai is a shopaholics paradise, with local and international brands on offer. Pick your mall depending on what you are looking for, but be sure to check out the Mall of the Emirates at least once during your trip, just for its impressive size.

Boat Trip
Avoid the traffic and cross the creek using an abra, a small wooden boat. It costs next to nothing (50 fils) and can be included as part of your visit through the city.
